In a recent advertisement, PTA has appealed the people of Pakistan to help catching Grey Calling. In the advertisement, PTA said that however, it has made arrangements to detect any Grey Calling incident, but still it needs help from the nation.
What Is Grey Calling And How It Occurs?
When someone calls you from outside Pakistan and a local (national) number appears at your CLI, then this is called Grey calling. There are agents in Pakistan, who have done deals with international telecommunication companies illegally for connecting all calls made by subscribers of their company to Pakistan. They don’t have any legal authorization by PTA or any other government institute to provide any such services but still they have dealt with international companies to connect their calls in Pakistan.
PTA just wants you to inform PTA whenever you receive any international call with local number at your CLI. Don’t worry, action will not be taken against the person who is calling you but the culprits behind it. PTA also promises not to reveal your identity.

What will be the benefit of consumers by informing PTA?
Do we want our loved ones living out side the countries to call us on cheap call rates?? Why to inform PTA then, and of which resources are they talking about? Have they ever consider zillion of tax that they have applied on telecom?
Think!
