Mobilink, a part of Orascom Telecom Holding, is Pakistan’s market leader in cellular services. Recently Mobilink posted that it is enjoying strong revenues, higher EBITDA and increasing subscriber base in the first half of 2010 as compared to the same period last year.

OTH published new results claiming that Mobilink subscriber base increased by 10.5 percent as compared to the same period last year – closing at 32.2 million at the end of H1 2010.
At the close of the first half of 2010, Mobilink grossed Rs. 47.5 billion showing a year on year (YoY) increase of 11.4 percent and an increase of 24.8 percent in its YoY EBITDA. Moreover, the company’s EBITDA margin has increased to 39.6 percent versus 35.5 percent over the same period last year.

Commenting on the results, Khaled Bichara, Group CEO, OTH shared that the first half of 2010 has verified stable growth for the majority of Orascom businesses, supported by a inclined additions to diverse customer bases. Mobilink’s displayed healthy signs of growth across the board, in particular an 18 percent YoY increase in EBITDA in USD thanks to reduced SIM tax subsidization.
